A taste of home

The Dada & Butoh video documentation got its first public screening last week at the Guildhall in Gloucester thanks to the curator Tim Green as part of "A taste of home."
It was a sedate evening that showcased work evoking a sense of place by local filmmakers, poets and musicians.
I am not certain how Dada fitted into that - but its pure subversive tone was captured well as it sat incongruously among the work on offer.

Commentary

I discovered tonight an interesting commentary on mine and others work [click here] from 2007. The main focus of the work at this stage was an exploration of a cycle of purgatory - the existential 'threat' upon the self as expressed through the body. It is always interesting to look back as part of contextual analysis of where one is journeying. Today I look at the sense of duration and the effect of one body upon another. The 'abject' is no longer the the centre of my focus and is now replaced by the 'being' yet the existentialism remains and sense of nihilism will always be present in the arterial flow of what I create.
